3G LTE Chipset Offers 100 Megabytes Downlink Speed

US : A new range of 3G chipsets will be launch next week with a 100 Megabyte download speed and an upload speed of 50 Megabytes. Wavesat will launch its Odyssey 9000 range of 3G LTE chipsets. The 3G LTE chipsets are aimed at the mobile handset, USB dongle, data card, and mobile device market.
The first of the 3G LTE Odyssey 9000 series – the OD9010 baseband processor – will begin the sampling process in October 2009 and will come with a fully featured 3G LTE protocol stack, NAS layers and a ready to go reference design.
A fully unique hybrid architecture and highly optimized DSPs with hardware acceleration modules is designed into the 3G LTE Odyssey 9000 series of devices which provides scaling to support 150 Mb/s download devices ( CAT-4 ).
The Odyssey 9000 is a highly integrated SOC with industry beating performance and power consumption, along with a highly flexible and programmable architecture to easily adapt to LTE’s evolving requirements. Wavesat’s award winning multi-protocol architecture also allows the Odyssey 9000 to support other 4G technologies including WiMAX and Japan’s XGP standard.
