Sky Go for Windows Phone on way

Update : Sky has contacted us and provided the following :

  • Sky Italia and Sky are separate companies operating in different countries
  • We as BSkyB are currently prioritising bringing support to additional Android tablet devices
  • We will continue to monitor the marketplace and should we see an uptake by our customers of Windows phones we will explore support.

End of Update.

Sky Go is already available for Android and iOS and enables you to watch Sky’s streaming mobile service on iPads, iPhones and on the bulk of Android smartphones and tablets. It is free to all Sky TV customers.

It seems that Sky Go will soon be available to Windows Phone users as news breaks via WMPoweruser whose source Plaffo in Italy - which is a dedicated Windows Phone website - reports that testing of Sky Go for Windows Phone is currently being undertaken and should be ready to download in December.

Sky Go has been available for Apple iOS and Android for well over a year now so it would be great to see the app appear next month in Windows Marketplace. The originating news broke in Italy but we are sure the UK will get this at the same time or shortly after Italy.
