Sony To Launch Nexus Smartphone Running Key Lime Pie ?

Earlier this week we brought you news that Sony were planning on unveiling a true rival to the iPhone 5 next year. Now it looks like the smartphone could well launch running Android Key Lime Pie (5.0).

New rumours, being reported by PocketNow, suggest that Sony are already testing the new version of Android. The information was gleaned from a benchmark spotted of a smartphone , codenamed the LT30i , which was running Android 5.0.

Our instincts tell us that it's a little early for Sony to be testing Android Key Lime Pie. However, it's possible that Sony could be producing the next Google Nexus smartphone and that they've been given early access to the operating system.

We have heard in the past that Sony would be producing a Nexus smartphone and a Sony Nexus smartphone would certainly be a true rival to the iPhone 5 and Galaxy SIII. The crew at 3G sure hope its true because we're huge fans of Sony's mobiles and one that adopts Google's pricing strategy is a truly exciting prospect.

Sony's new smartphone is expected to be unveiled at CES in January , so we don't have too long to wait to find out the truth. We'll let you know as soon as we hear anything more about the Sony Nexus smartphone !
