Instagram have confirmed that their photo editing and sharing application will be coming to Android smartphones.

The Instagram application has been available for the Apple iPhone for a long time and has proved hugely popular. Infact, the application now has over 14 million users on Apple devices !

The success of Instagram is down to its ease of use and the amazing effects and filters you can easily apply to your photos. The effects and filters included resemble those you'd find in a high-end photo-suite, but Instagram is free !

Another great feature of Instagram is just how easy it is to share your photos with your favourite social networks. All the major social networks are supported including Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr, Foursquare, and Posterous.

The Instagram application for Android will be available free and is supported by advertisements. We're not sure exactly when it'll be available, but 3G expects it to hit the Android Market early next year.
