Blackberry 10 Smartphones To Launch On January 21st ?

RIM are currently holding their Blackberry Jam conference where a keynote was delivered by Alec Saunders , RIM's vice-president of developer relations. In the keynote Saunders accidently revealed that Blackberry 10 would launch on January 21st.

In the keynote Saunders stated that developers who produced applications for Blackberry 10 before January 21st would get a free limited edition Blackberry 10 smartphone. However, what he accidentally added was January 21st was the "launch" of Blackberry 10 and according to Pocket-Lint , who were at the event, he physically paused after making the mistake !

Since the gaff was made RIM have denied that January 21st is the launch date of Blackberry 10 , but we believe they are just covering their tracks. 3G expects Blackberry 10 to land on January 21st, but we'll just have to wait for absolute certainty.

So far this month hasn't been the best time in RIM's history because last week all their smartphones on Vodafone suffered from a server crash and now they've unintentionally leaked the release date of their next big launch.

When Blackberry 10 does launch RIM will be releasing two smartphones running the operating system with one being a full touch-screen device, while the other will be a classic Blackberry smartphone featuring both a touch-screen and a full QWERTY keyboard.

Whenever Blackberry 10 launches , the success of the operating system and the smartphones running on the platform,  are crucial to RIM's future in the smartphone market. In recent times Blackberry have seen both their brand image and their sales hit badly and RIM are hoping Blackberry 10 can turn around rectify their recent fortunes.
