Airhop Pursue 3G LTE SON Market
15th September , 2009
US : A 4G systems software company has secured $1 million from wireless industry investors. Airhop Communications received the cash injection with the purpose of targeting the 3G LTE SON Market and has strengthened its management team accordingly.
Airhop Communications intend to extend their lead in the field of 4G self organized networking and systems software development. The company says that with the explosion of 3G data pushing network capabilities to their limits, they see 4G network deployment as requiring a different approach. The change needed will see the larger network cells being replaced by many smaller cells which will be able to deliver the much higher data rates and capacity required for 4G wireless.
However, the introduction of many smaller cells leads to other issues such as interference and frequency spectrum reuse which need to be resolved. Airhop Communications say the answer is Self-Organized Networking technology.
Alongside the investment outlined above the company has recruited the following key personnel to take the company to the next level of 4G wireless network solutions.
Joining AirHop's management team are Garrett Choi ( ex Continuous Computing ) as chief operating officer, Jerry Hall ( ex CEO of PriveSec, Inc ) as vice president of marketing and Anand Parikh ( ex Cartiza Networks ) as vice president of business development.
