Mexico : Aricent announced that it has opened a new 3G and 4G wireless development and testing center in Monterrey, Mexico.

“We are pleased to have Aricent, one of the world’s leading communications software companies, join our strong and dynamic technology community,” said the Governor of the State of Nuevo León, Dr. José Natividad González Parás.

“Monterrey is known for its highly-qualified, educated work force and is a recognized center for software development and in the telecommunications sector. Aricent is well positioned for success in the region.”

“The new Aricent development center at the University of Nuevo León enables us to leverage the skilled resources in Mexico and will increase the adoption of our cutting edge communications software solutions in the Americas,” said Ash Bhardwaj, Chief Executive Officer of Aricent. “We expect the center to employ over 500 software professionals in a few years.”

“The Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon is a perfect launch pad for students looking to secure careers in communications software development,” said Jose Antonio Gonzalez Treviño, President of the Autonomous University of Nuevo León. “Our extensive pool of talent will ensure the best possible return on Aricent’s investment in UANL through the development of course curriculum and certification exams which drive home that knowledge. By offering course curriculum through Aricent, the UANL is making it more convenient for students to establish themselves as experts in communications software development and testing technologies.”
