New 3G Test Probe Release

5th October , 2004

Europe : NetHawk, a pioneer in 3G testing since their release of the world’s first 3G protocol analyser in 2001, is now launching a new release of their intelligent data acquisition product for 3G Networks, the NetHawk 3G Probe.

Real-time 3G network data is a vast source of information for the operator. With the correct tools for filtering and refining this vast amount of data, the operator can get an accurate view of what is going on in the network, as well as the reasons behind the various events. The NetHawk 3G Probe’s data gathering is based on established industry standards, and thus it provides a vendor-independent source of information.

The NetHawk 3G Probe with its leading technological approach is a long-term solution for effective data capturing from remote sites. The tool reduces the need to travel to remote sites, as it can be operated easily and effectively from your office through the IP network. The data captured with the NetHawk Probe can be examined in your office using NetHawk Analysers, other NetHawk applications or a variety of third party post-processing applications.

NetHawk 3G Probes can be used as stand-alone monitoring tools or as building blocks for large, distributed systems which can monitor a part of the network or even complete networks. Typical application areas for the NetHawk 3G Probe are 3G rollouts, troubleshooting, network optimisation, network performance and QoS monitoring, as well as implementation of value-added services.

The NetHawk 3G Probe can capture both user plane and control plane data in 3G networks in real time. With the tool’s efficient pre-filtering capabilities, it is possible to limit the amount of gathered data to contain only essential information. With flexible scheduling of recording, the periods of data gathering can be set up accurately to suit
the user’s needs.

All these features combined with cost-efficiency and field-proven technology make the NetHawk 3G Probe an easy-to-use, effective tool that helps network operators provide their subscribers with high quality, functional 3G services.
