The Austrian 3G multimedia provider Hutchison 3G Austria has concluded cooperation with NetHawk for the supply of “NetHawk Probe” UMTS protocol monitoring and testing equipment. This cooperation is set as long term partnership with the aim to equip the network with further value added services.

The basic idea in the NetHawk Probe concept is to enable the operators to use the huge amount of information “hidden” in the protocol structures of their networks. Exploiting the data with an intelligent and powerful access, this information can then be used for enhanced monitoring of the network or creating new and comprehensive value added services.

The NetHawk Probe is based on the NetHawk 3G Analyser platform that is the most sophisticated product on the market for monitoring and collecting on-line information from the UMTS Network. NetHawk is supplying the appropriate added value solutions like QoS, Call Management, Fraud Detection, Location Detection and Billing Verification. The open interface architecture enables the 3rd party post-processing, making it also possible for every external company to build up add-on solutions over the NetHawk Probe.
