When we originally heard about the Blackberry Colt back in August it was expected to launch on RIM's QNX operating system, which was going to be the successor to Blackberry OS 7. However, a new leak has suggested that the Blackberry Colt will launch on the recently announced BBX operating system.
BBX was announced earlier this month and combines the best of Blackberry OS 7 with the best of QNX to provide an all conquering platform for both tablets and smartphones. The leak obtained by n4bb.com also contained a leaked picture of the Colt, which can be viewed above.
The details about the specification are quite sketchy but it's expected to have a dual-core processor, 4 inch touch-screen and both front and rear facing cameras. It's also thought to be thinner than the Blackberry Bold 9900, while retaining the same steel bezel unibody.
Blackberry will be hoping the Colt can turn around its fortunes which have been hugely damaged by the recent blackouts it saw across the world. Once 3G hear any more information about the Blackberry Colt we'll report it straight away.
