AsiaInfo Holdings announced that it has signed a contract with China Telecom, the world's largest wireline telecommunications and broadband services provider, to provide billing solutions for its ongoing extended TD-SCDMA trial.
Under the terms of the agreement, AsiaInfo will develop an Online Charging System (OCS) for China Telecom's extended next generation wireless network trial in China's Hebei province. The system will meet 3GPP (Third Generation Partnership Project) standards and China Telecom's OCS specifications.
AsiaInfo's OCS solution will also provide real-time billing for both pre- and post-paid subscribers and support the convergence of China Telecom's fixed-line, broadband and future mobile services. "AsiaInfo's industry-leading billing solution is ideally positioned to support the rollout of China Telecom's next generation networks," said Steve Zhang ( above ), president and chief executive officer of AsiaInfo. "We are proud to have been selected for this groundbreaking project and we expect to deepen our relationship with China Telecom by continuing to develop the highest quality telecom solutions."
