: Aeroflex and Centro de Tecnología de las Comunicaciones (Cetecom
Spain) have entered into a long-term, global distribution partnership
under which Aeroflex will become the sole worldwide sales and support
channel for Cetecom’s highly regarded MINT (Mobile Communications
Integrated Tester) RF conformance test platform for 2G/2.5G/3G mobile
handsets.
The
distribution partnership with Cetecom places Aeroflex in the forefront
of the global market for mobile terminal RF conformance testing. The
partnership complements Aeroflex’s existing leadership position
in protocol conformance testing, providing Aeroflex customers with
a single source for a complete handset conformance testing solution.
Commenting on
Aeroflex’s move into RF conformance testing, Pete Nicholson,
business unit manager for Aeroflex Test Solutions, Wireless Division
said, “The partnership between Aeroflex and Cetecom is great
news all round. From the customers’ perspective, they now have
access to an RF and protocol mobile conformance testing solution from
a source they know and trust. From Aeroflex’s point of view,
it gives us an instant presence in the RF conformance market with
a quality solution. For Cetecom, access to Aeroflex’s established
worldwide sales and support channel presents a real opportunity to
maximize the global sales potential of its MINT RF conformance test
platform.”
Andres Moreno,
CETECOM Wireless Division director, said, “This is important
news for the mobile communications market because we will be able
to offer the most innovative and complete product portfolio for conformance
testing.
We will also have the opportunity to lead this fast-changing market
thanks to our combined efforts in R&D, worldwide sales and technical
support”.
The MINT RF conformance
tester is a highly scaleable, modular and automatic platform ideally
suited to both mobile handset and chipset manufacturers to ensure
their products comply with the applicable GCF Certification Criteria
test cases and also to network operators for quality assurance purposes.
It is currently the only complete, dual-mode test system that supports
RRM, GSM850/900/1800/1900, GPRS, E-GPRS, AMR and W-CDMA mobile terminal
development and certification testing according to 3Gpp TS 51.010-1
and 3GPP TS 34.121.
