Immedia Broadcasts Live Radio via 3G Mobile Phones

Europe : Immedia Broadcasting, the UK's leading provider of live tailored radio for retailers, has signed a contract to broadcast live radio stations direct to mobile phones. The exclusive contract with Sydus, the Singapore-based audio-to-mobile technology company, gives Immedia access to a global mobile radio platform which streams its radio content to mobile phones on both 2G and 3G networks.

Immedia can now offer clients the powerful flexibility of customised radio with global reach. Sydus's technology will allow Immedia's clients to communicate effectively with their staff and consumers, regardless of geographical location. In order to enable the service, users download software from the internet which can then be accessed through their phone's menu.

Bruno Brookes, Chief Executive of Immedia, said:

'This new technology means we can allow companies to communicate targeted information simultaneously to employees on the move all over the world. Being able to offer radio via mobile phones puts us in a leading position, ensuring we provide our clients with the most advanced and effective technology available to maximise access to both employees and customers. Companies will also be able to further drive customer loyalty promotions through the phones in people's pockets. This takes the notion of in-store to outdoor.'

'Organisations have traditionally delivered their messages via flat and tethered formats that may not be personal. However, with Sydus's technology, Immedia will now be able to allow their clients to disseminate key messages in a more meaningful, timely and less restrictive manner, to mobile phone users on the move.
