Sha-mail Card does not require any fixed charges* and can be sent in four types of ways: by postcard (190 yen per message), envelope (250 yen per message), voice greeting card (1900 yen per message) or as an envelope with stickers (500 yen per message). Customers can choose from a variety of card designs to suit occasions such as Christmas, New Year's Day, Coming-of-Age Day, Valentine's Day or birthdays and since the messages are sent by post, they can be sent instantly to anyone, even if recipients do not have a picture messaging handset. In addition, customers with upcoming Vodafone live!-enabled Vodafone Global Standard (3G) handsets will be able send Sha-mail cards to Japan while abroad. Sha-mail Card has a range of other optional services as well. With "Online Message" the sender can record a voice message that the receiver can listen to by dialing a specified number and New Year greeting postcards can be designated to arrive on New Year's Day. For convenient payment, charges for using Sha-mail Card are all included on one's Vodafone bill. Other Vodafone Group operators in Europe including Vodafone Germany and Vodafone Italy are already offering services similar to Sha-mail card to high acclaim in their markets. Sha-mail Card will initially be offered until the end of March 2004 for a trial period after which Vodafone K.K. plans to offer additional features after April 2004 based on customer feedback. For more details on Sha-mail Card, please see the attached appendixes. *Mail
sending, web access and voice message recording charges are billed separately. |
