Ulf Avrin, CEO of Mobeon ( inset ) said, "IP-based messaging software, with voicemail as its cornerstone, is the future of operator messaging platforms. The technology paves the way for a cost-cutting and flexible business model, giving users a totally integrated communications solution. Mobeon has 66% of the global open IP-based voicemail and enhanced messaging market and this research confirms the extent of the growing market we operate in." N.B. The voicemail market is worth $1.2 billion annually. Mobeon is a young Swedish company that has rapidly become the world's leading white label supplier of mobile messaging software to businesses and telecoms operators. Its software enables workers to access voicemail and corporate email via mobile phones, notebooks and PDAs, so that productivity and efficiency can be increased, and business 'dead time' eliminated. Mobeon is taking on the incumbent telecoms giants by pushing the boundaries of messaging technology, making mobile working a cost-effective and viable reality for businesses. Formed in 2001 by Brainheart Capital, and headquartered in Stockholm, the company has already built up a presence in 120 countries across the globe, including customers in the US, India, Latin America and across Europe. In fact, Mobeon technology is now distributed globally by over 28 partners serving nearly 15 million end users. In April 2003, Mobeon acquired Ericsson's globally successful Messaging over IP platform with Ericsson taking a 40% ownership in Mobeon. The company is now the leading supplier of Internet Protocol messaging solutions in a voicemail market worth approximately 1.2 billion dollars annually. The company currently has 92 staff, making its global achievements all the more impressive. Turnover was approximately $8 million between April 2003 and the present day, with a figure of $24 million estimated for 2004. The Absolut Company, the premium spirits brand, currently has 75 of its international sales force using Mobeon's technology. It enables Absolut's sales professionals to wirelessly access corporate e-mail, calendar and contacts in under 30 seconds, over any network, all over the world. This maximises productivity whilst travelling or just whilst out of the office. By allowing workers to continuously keep on developments in the office, this reduces stress and increases productivity. The multi-billion dollar mobile market is currently experiencing tremendous disruption, as new Internet based technologies redefine the global competitive landscape. As a dynamic, young and agile company, Mobeon is in an ideal position to capitalise on this. A new report from telecoms industry analyst, Frost & Sullivan, places Mobeon as the current market leader in the global open IP based voicemail market, with 66% market share for its M3 IP messaging offering- this is a company to watch. |
