| 3G Soft Launch in Malaysia |

"We strongly believe TMB's 3G WCDMA pilot network will become another success story to highlight Huawei's win-win commitment with our global partners, " Dr. Alexander Liu, vice president of Huawei Asia Pacific Operation, said in his opening speech at the soft launch ceremony. Following the welcome speech, Mr. Omar Zaki, CEO & Project Director of TM 3G Group, highly commended Huawei for its quickness of network deployment and success of the first 3G phone call that ensued, and its capacity of providing a wide range of mobile data services. "TM will invest billions of Ringgit (Malaysian currency) for 3G launch in Malaysia, " he added, "and we trust your knowledge, expertise and commitments can benefit Telekom Malaysia in delivering quality services to our customers." 3G pilot network covers the city center of Kuala Lumpur, including the
renowned Petronas Twin Tower and KL Tower. The pilot project is intended
for providing voice, video phone, plus a broad array of data services,
such as Multimedia Message, KJAVA Download, Portal, WAP Browsing, Location
Based Service, Personal Information Management, etc. at the speed up to
384 Kbps. A variety of commercial 3G handsets can be supported in the
network. |
