: TransChip Inc., a leading developer of integrated camera solutions
for camera phones, announced the release of a fully programmable,
two-megapixel (UXGA) CMOS camera module, the TC7030. The new imager
is part of TransChip's AlgoCam(TM) product family of fully programmable
imagers. The imager samples are currently available and TransChip
will begin mass production in Q2, 2005.
TransChip will
be demonstrating its solution at Next Generation Telecom China, Beijing
on November 9, 2004 and at the 3G World Congress in Hong Kong November
16-18, 2004 in booth 1413.
TransChip's AlgoCam(TM)
TC7030 is the only fully programmable camera solution on the market
today for camera phones. The AlgoCam(TM) TC7030 delivers all the required
hardware, software, and development tools, enabling camera applications
to be designed in a matter of days.
"TransChip's
has responded to handset manufacturers' requests for higher resolution
imagers and richer picture quality and created our two-megapixel offering,"
explained Arie Gavriely, vice president of technical marketing at
TransChip. "Our customers have emphasized the importance of full
programmability, so TransChip has created a flexible solution that
can be optimized for any camera phone product and ensures picture
perfect images with excellent color even in challenging lighting conditions.
In creating the 2-megapixel solution, TransChip has provided a rich
photographic experience that turns any camera phone into an advanced
digital camera with images that are of high enough quality to be printed
and sent to friends and family."
AlgoCam(TM) TC7030
also has built-in support for continuous and strobe light flash devices,
and a special backlight mode that enables clear pictures of objects
even with extremely bright background conditions. The 1600x1200 pixel
sensor array offers on-chip image processing, with a resize capability
for the exact dimensions of any target LCD display. An on-chip PLL
supports a wide range of input clocks ranging from 3.68MHz to 80MHz
and provides built-in support for auto focus lenses.
