US
: IComm Technologies Inc. has just been granted a second very critical
patent for its technology on Turbo Codes Decoder implementing concatenated
SISO Log-MAP decoders.
The
new patent serial number US6813742 was issued on November 2, 2004
by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). ICOMM’s
new patented Turbo Codes Decoder is part of its Wireless Baseband
Processor specifically designed for applications in commercial 3rd
Generation W-CDMA/CDMA2000 (3GPP/3GPP2) Base-station equipments and
consumer wireless Receiver’s portable devices, which provides
the best performance in term BER, and data throughput.
While
other patented Turbo Convolutional Block Codes from French Telecom
specifically designed for using in applications for space explorations,
which are not feasible for commercial applications.
ICOMM’s
patented Turbo Codes Decoder is the most powerful forward error correction
(FEC) commercially available today, operating near the Shannon limit
and achieving greater power efficiency than current commercially available
FEC schemes. Also, ICOMM’s patented Wireless Baseband Processor
implements Turbo Codes Decoders which is essential to 3GPP/3GPP2 platform
for UTMS and 3G W-CDMA.
IComm offers its
patented Turbo Codes Decoder product IP soft core with IP licensing,
which is available in both VHDL and Verilog RTL codes. This patent
Wireless Baseband Processor with its Turbo Codes Decoder is being
made available through the Turbo Codes Licensing Program to ASIC,
FPGA, DSP software developers, and wireless communications equipment
manufacturers, as well as IP Core Developers.
A patent license
is required in most instances for implementation of embedded Turbo
Codes Decoders within a 3rd Generation wireless W-CDMA communication
systems applications, such as an ASIC, FPGA, DSP software developers,
or W-CDMA communication equipments (base-stations and portable devices)
manufacturers. For Technology IP License, please contact IComm Technologies,
Inc. at 1-866-643-ICOM for more details.
