Brazilian
3G Market Worth US$ 6 Billion Annually |

The UMTS Forum forecasts
that the Brazilian market for 3G services will be worth some US$ 6 billion
annually within the next ten years - representing a quarter of all Latin
American 3G operator revenues. |

Speaking
at one of Latin America's biggest telecommunications industry events,
"Futurecom" in Florianopolis, Brazil, UMTS Forum Chairman
Dr Bernd Eylert welcomed recent confirmation by the Brazilian administration
ANATEL that it plans to deploy third generation mobile services in ITU-approved
"core" frequency bands, with 2x55 MHz of 3G spectrum now allocated
for UMTS.
