Nokia have responded to claims that its Nokia Lumia 800 isn't selling as well as expected by announcing that sales in the UK have been "excellent". They also added that the Lumia 800 has seen the highest first week smartphone sales in Nokia's history.

Reports in the media had suggested that Nokia have slashed their initial sales forcecast   two million to one million sales this quarter. As Nokia havn't released any exact sales figures we can't still rule that this information proves correct.

The Lumia 800 is Nokia's first Windows smartphone and they've spent a huge amount promoting the new smartphone. If sales have been disappointing then  it would be a body blow for Nokia , who've been having a torrid time of late.
