Europe : Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö will be the first cities to use Telia’s Turbo-3G in Sweden. After the initial launch of Turbo-3G, the build-out will continue and more than six million people in Sweden will have access to this new high-speed mobile broadband by summer 2008. Telia’s customers are being offered free surfing with Turbo-3G during all of 2008.

Before year-end 2007, Telia’s customers will be able to surf with Turbo-3G in Sweden’s three major cities.Turbo-3G will also be available at the same time at around 20 ski resorts in Sweden, including Åre, Sälen, Idre and Tärnaby.

“Surfing with mobile broadband is as natural as calling with a mobile phone. Our customers have always been able to call with Sweden’s best mobile network. It is therefore obvious that they should also have Sweden’s best mobile network for data traffic and Internet surfing,” says Håkan Dahlström, Head of Mobility Services at TeliaSonera in Sweden.

Telia’s mobile broadband has rung up record sales in Telia’s retail stores since this past summer. According to sales statistics from IT Research for the third quarter of 2007, sales of mobile broadband in Sweden have increased by 382 percent, compared with the corresponding quarter last year.

On November 23, Telia is launching its special Christmas offer for Telia Mobile Broadband. In the offer, customers can surf free of charge with Turbo-3G during all of 2008. All they have to do is subscribe to a fixed-rate subscription for Telia Mobile Broadband between November 23 and December 31, 2007. The subscription costs SEK 199/month and has a binding period of 12 months.

The free Turbo-3G surfing offer during all of 2008 also applies to existing customers who extend their fixed-rate subscription for Telia Mobile Broadband before December 31 this year. In addition to Turbo-3G surfing, the fixed monthly rate includes surfing with Telia’s other mobile broadband technologies, such as Telia Homerun, “ordinary 3G” and EDGE.

As of the end of November, Telia’s customers will be able to follow the progress of the Turbo-3G build-out in Sweden on Telia’s website telia.se.

Telia’s Turbo-3G offers broadband speeds up to 7.2 Mbit/s.
