UK : Actix announced that O2 Ireland has selected Actix’ 3G
performance engineering solutions, backed by Actix training and engineering
services, to optimize its 3G network.
O2 Ireland cited the maturity
of Actix’ solution including its ability to handle large amounts
of data, comprehensive analysis functionality - both low and high
level - and ability to be easily integrated into O2’s existing
tool set and infrastructure, as key to the selection. The experience,
professionalism, and commitment of Actix’ engineering and sales
staff was also commended.
Actix’ Intelligent
Wireless Performance Engineering solutions are entirely vendor independent
and enable operators to analyze raw wireless network data from a mix
of network technologies, systems and data collection solutions in
fine detail. This gives an end-to-end picture of vital wireless functions
and the quality of service delivery from the subscriber’s perspective;
it also enables engineers to ‘drill down’ to the root
cause of any deficiencies. Some of the operators using Actix’
3G solutions include: FET Taiwan, Orange France, 3GIS, Hutchison 3G
UK, Swisscom, Mobilkom, US Cellular, Verizon Wireless, Bell Mobility,
Sprint PCS, and Qwest Wireless.
Oliver Coughlan,
Chief Technology Officer, O2 said, “After considering numerous
post-processing tools, it became clear that Actix solutions were market
leading. Both Actix’ technical and sales staff were very professional
and committed to understanding the specific issues we were facing
to identify how best to be of assistance. We were working to a tight
deadline and the early provision of trial licenses enabled us to get
feedback from a wide number of our engineering staff. The clincher
was its solution’s proven track record in the field. We needed
a post-processing tool that would fit in, work immediately and enable
us to work intelligently and quickly. On top of this, Actix is delivering
training, workshops and engineering services, enabling us to get more
value out of the product, faster.”
