| New Java Wireless Games for T-Mobile |
17th November, 2003 |
Europe : T-Mobile and Turner Broadcasting announced that they have signed a European-wide deal to provide Java mobile game services via t-zones, featuring world famous characters from Turner’s Cartoon Network and Boomerang channels such as Tom and Jerry, The Powerpuff Girls, The Flintstones and a whole host of others. The offering will include entertaining Java games featuring classic and contemporary characters to appeal to phone users of all ages. Games will be Dexter’s Laboratory Security Alert, The Flintstones’ Grocery Hunt, Courage, The Cowardly Dog’s Haunted House, Tom and Jerry’s Cheese Chase, The Powerpuff Girls’ Bad Mojo, Yogi Bear’s Pic-A-Nic and The VBirds’ Virtuality. All of Cartoon Network and Boomerang’s global content has been developed by Macrospace Ltd. "Partnering with top entertainment brands to allow our customers access to fresh and exciting services is key to our t-zones content strategy and we are delighted that we can now add Turner’s Cartoon Network to our existing portfolio," comments Nikesh Arora, Chief Marketing Officer at T-Mobile. "Our t-zones entertainment channels have heavily driven uptake of t-zones usage and the Cartoon Network brand will provide yet another shortcut to mass-market consumer awareness of mobile gaming." "We believe that cartoon fans young and old will relish the ability to interact with their favourite characters wherever they happen to be," said Mitch Lazar, Vice President Wireless & Emerging Technology for Turner Broadcasting. "We are encouraged by mobile gamers’ interest in our popular characters and know that making such titles readily available to T-Mobile subscribers in its t-zones will make it easier for gamers to access and download our content directly to their mobile phones, while helping T-Mobile generate new, incremental revenue." |
