The key products to be sold initially are the Haier Pen Phone ( inset ) and GSM Phones ( inset below is PTL 650 Blue. Features and spec of these products is detailed below. Global communications provider Primus Telecommunications has launched the first of its Primus phone shops at Heathrow Airport Terminals 1 and 2, as part of a sponsorship initiative that will see it undertaking a programme of co-branded activity with the BAA shopping collection service. The Primus phone shops are located in the airports with the BAA shopping collection booths in the Arrivals areas. Passengers can choose from the wide selection of mobile products and services on offer including: phones and accessories, pre-paid calling cards, top-up vouchers and SIM cards. In addition, customers will be able to hire mobile phones for the duration of their travel. Primus is a global communications company with a worldwide network covering North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. It is best known in the UK for its virtual mobile network operations (VMNO) and value calling options including carrier pre-select and the Planet Talk range of pre-paid calling cards. The BAA shopping collection service enables passengers to buy at the airport on departure and collect their purchases when they return from their journey. The free service is ideal for bulky or breakable purchases. Andrew Reid, Managing Director at Primus Telecommunications said: We are delighted to announce the opening of the first Primus phone shops. Our objective is to ensure that passengers are able to fulfil all their mobile communication needs at the airport, no matter how big or small.
Colin Hargrave, BAA Retail Director UK Airports said; These shops are great news for passengers who now have access to a fantastic range of mobile products and services. We are looking forward to rolling out the phone shops in Gatwick and Stansted. Primus plans to introduce five more phone shops with the shopping collection points in Heathrow Terminals 3 and 4, Gatwick north and south terminals and Stansted later on in the year. A
