Sony's Xperia SP has been delayed a couple of weeks in the UK. The mid-range Android smartphone will now land in May.
The Sony Xperia SP should have landed in UK stores on April 30th, but Sony's smartphone is yet to begin shipping. We've now learnt that the Xperia SP has been delayed two weeks and land in the UK on May 11th.
Sony's Xperia SP is a mid-range smartphone that incorporates the same design introduced within the Sony Xperia Z. Sadly, it lacks the water-proofing of its bigger brother but maintains a premium feel thanks to its aluminum frame.
The Android smartphone has a decent specification including a 4.6 inch 720 display , a dual-core processor and an 8 mega-pixel camera. One of the most loved features of the Xperia SP is a customisable notification bar which sits below the devices touch-screen display.
The Xperia SP is priced around £250 which puts it in direct competition with Google's quad-core Nexus 4 , Nokia's Lumia 820 and the Galaxy S3 Mini. We prefer Sony's smartphone over all 3 devices and will post a full review of the Xperia SP very soon !
