Lenovo Signs 3G License Agreement with Qualcomm

US: QUALCOMM and Lenovo Mobile Communications announced that the companies have entered into a subscriber unit license agreement to cover WCDMA subscriber products. Under the terms of the worldwide royalty-bearing agreement, QUALCOMM has granted Lenovo Mobile a patent license to develop, manufacture and sell WCDMA subscriber units for high-speed broadband wireless access. The royalties payable by Lenovo Mobile are at QUALCOMM's standard worldwide rates. Additionally, the two companies intend to cooperate in the development of certain subscriber unit products incorporating CDMA technology.

“QUALCOMM is pleased to add Lenovo Mobile Communications Technology, a leading Chinese mobile supplier, to its expanding roster of WCDMA licensees,” said Marvin Blecker, president of QUALCOMM Technology Licensing. “Lenovo Mobile's initiative in adding WCDMA products to its portfolio is a testament to their cutting-edge product design strategies and commitment to meeting the current and future mobile connectivity needs of consumers.”
