OKWAP, Datang to Promote Development of TD-SCDMA

ASIA China : OKWAP Inc. and Datang Mobile Communications Equipment Co., Ltd. plan to quicken the development of TD-SCDMA handsets for commercial use, per an agreement signed recently.

Datang Mobile, a leading Chinese telecom equipment manufacturer, will authorize OKWAP, a Taiwan-based mobile phone maker, to use its complete single and dual-mode mobile phone solutions, including reference design, protocol stack, and platform structure for single and dual-mode mobile phones.

With the commercial use of TD-SCDMA standard approaching, more and more companies at home and abroad have entered into strategic partnerships with Datang Mobile on joint development of TD-SCDMA terminals.

Taking advantage of Datang Mobile‘s mature TD-SCDMA mobile phone solutions, OKWAP is expected to let loose TD-SCDMA mobile phones for commercial use as soon as possible, voiced market analysts
