The tenth annual event will feature industry leaders discussing innovations in 3G CDMA technologies and winning business strategies in the rapidly evolving wireless marketplace. "3G CDMA technologies, CDMA2000(R) and WCDMA, are delivering next-generation wireless services across the globe, and CDMA2000 continues to lead the wireless market in the introduction of the most advanced data services and applications," said Perry LaForge, executive director of the CDG. "The CDMA community is celebrating a number of key milestones this year including the tenth anniversary of the first cdmaOne(TM) launch and the fifth anniversary of the first CDMA2000 deployment, which was also the inaugural IMT-2000 deployment." This year's event will include sessions on global trends in the adoption and penetration of 3G CDMA services, assessing the opportunities for fixed and mobile convergence, evaluating emerging alternative wireless technologies, delivering mobile TV services, and the potential of new revenue streams such as mobile music. In addition to plenary and keynote sessions, the Americas Congress will feature concurrent tracks on business strategy and technology, and the eleventh annual Test Forum. Pre-Congress symposia will take a closer look at market trends and applications for mobile entertainment, mobile broadcasting, and network evolution for CDMA2000 1xEV-DO. Sponsors confirmed to-date include Airvana, Airwide Solutions, Bridgewater Systems, Cisco, Comverse, Kyocera and Qualcomm. The Americas Congress is organized by the Institute of International Research (IIR) (www.iirusa.com) in association with the CDG.
