JAMDAT Acquires 3G Player

16th May 2003

JAMDAT Mobile Inc., a global leader in wireless entertainment, announced today that it is acquiring Hexacto Games Inc., a leading provider of games for Palm, Pocket PC and next-generation 3G phone platforms.

Inset shows the Hexacto proprietary development methodology called MULTIOtm. This method combines a framework, in-house tools and a production model aimed at separating platform specific services and resources (events, display, bitmaps, sound...) from reusable game components (gameplay, logic, AI...).

As a result of the acquisition, JAMDAT will add Hexacto's entire library of original and branded titles to its slate, integrate Hexacto's Montreal-based development team into its publishing business and broaden its leadership to additional mobile entertainment platforms.

"This acquisition is particularly significant to JAMDAT because it combines our leadership in publishing mobile entertainment applications for BREW(TM) and Java with the expertise and market share of Hexacto, the leading game publisher for Pocket PC, Smartphone and Palm platforms," said Mitch Lasky, CEO of JAMDAT Mobile Inc. "We see tremendous synergies between our respective brands, distribution channels and studio resources that, when integrated, will enable our organization to be more capable and competitive than ever."

"We are thrilled to be joining JAMDAT, as we are now able to expand the availability of our high-quality catalog through JAMDAT's exceptional carrier distribution network," said Alexandre Taillefer, president and CEO of Hexacto Games. "Our combined assets, shared values and corporate vision have the organization uniquely positioned for success in the global mobile entertainment market."
