UMTS Gathers European Momentum

Europe : Tira Wireless has been selected by Telefonica Moviles España (TME) to provide mobile games for the operator's 'e-moción' mobile-Internet access platform. This agreement will provide MoviStar e-moción users of the Telefonica Móviles service with access to a broad selection of Java-based games, such as NHL® SlapShot Hockey™ and Tournament Darts, which are published under the Tira Studios brand.

Telefonica Moviles will select games from Tira's regularly updated catalogue, which includes the following applications:

NHL SlapShot Hockey - This fast-paced, 2-on-2 hockey game enables users to choose their favourite NHL teams, and leverage distinct attributes, such as skating speed and offense and defense abilities, to win the game.
Tournament Darts - The world's most popular pub game is now available for mobile phones. Users make their mark by hitting the bull's eye, and have only a few seconds between throwing each dart.
Beach Volleyball - A wild variation of beach volleyball where users must outmaneuver their opponent.
Covert Solitaire - This classic single-player card game will keep users entertained for hours. Users build up the suit piles from Ace to King and try to beat their previous score.
Combat Jet Attack - As commanders of an elite group of fighter pilots - the Xtreme Air Strike team - users must lead their team into foreign territory and blast away enemy jets.
Combat Tank Attack - As the sole survivor of a brutal enemy air attack, users are ordered to stay in enemy territory until backup arrives. By maneuvering their tanks, they fend off attacking paratroopers, and can blow planes and paratroopers out of the skies.
Bloobz - Users must outwit the Bloobz by picking one Bloob and helping it jump to victory. Users must jump over the other Bloobz to cancel them out until they are the only Bloob left.
Bumble Beez - Users must help Babba the bear extract honey from the Bumble Beez beehive. If the user makes a mistake, the bear gets stung badly. Babba must extract the honey by uncovering the beehive chamber by chamber, and passing over those that may contain Beez.
