Google Now Coming To iOS - iPhone Owners Getting Alternative To Siri ?

Google Now looks set to arrive on Apple's iOS platform after a promotional video was accidentally leaked on Youtube. Will iPhone owners choose to use Google's software instead of Siri ?

Apple owners have been enjoying the Siri voice assistant since it made its debut on the iOS 6 platform back in October of 2011. However,  the software has been criticised for being inaccurate and sluggish.

Google then responded to Siri by launching "Google Now" which was introduced in Android Jelly Bean. Google Now is an intelligent personal assistant exclusive to the Android platform which has a very similar feature-set to Siri.

Until now Apple owners have had to put up with Siri's inaccuracy or use Google's Voice-Search application instead which is effectively a glorified search-engine..

We reported on a comparison between Siri and Google Voice Search which found that Google's software performed faster and more accurately than Apple's voice-assistant. This must have made Apple owners jealous of Android owners enjoying Google Now.

Google Now Coming To Apple iOS Devices

The good news for owners of Apple devices is that it looks as though Google Now is coming to the iOS platform.

Yesterday, Google accidentally leaked a promotional video for Google Now for iOS. The video has since been pulled but not before it spread like wild-fire across the webosphere. We're not sure when it'll actually launch , but as soon as we get official confirmation from Google themselves you'll be the first to know.

We expect a large number of iPhone and iPad owners to choose to use Google's software over Apple's Siri  because it's a better piece of software. However, only time will tell and this could prove to be the kick-start Apple needed to improve Siri.
