Sony have now launched a version of the Playstation Store for the Xperia S, which is due to launch in the UK later this month.
The Sony Playstation Store is a place where owners of Sony devices can download full-games and add-ons for their existing games. Until now it's only been available on true gaming devices, such as the PS3 and PSP/Vita but now you'll be able to access it on your mobile.
The Sony Xperia S is the first of Sony's NXT (Next-Generation) smartphones and it comes with Playstation Certification, as will the rest of the Xperia smartphones launched in 2012. We assume this also means that the Playstation Store will be available to download on all of the new Xperia smartphones !
At the mobile version of the Playstation Store you'll be able to download from a vast library of mobile games, watch game-trailers and find patches and updates for games you already have installed.
Sony have also released "PS Pocket", which enables Xperia S owners to download classic Playstation games onto their mobiles. We assume these will be lower-priced than the fully fledged games on the Playstation Store.
3G assumes the applications will be available in the UK when the Xperia S launches on March 19th.
