Smallest M2M Cellular Module in the Market
2nd March, 2009
Europe : Sagem Communications announced the availability of the HiLoNC, the smallest M2M module in the world (a surface of only 24x24 mm, a height of 2.6 mm and weighing less than 3 grams) providing the highest technology standards. The HiLoNC perfectly fits to applications driven by size limitations (Track and Trace, Metering, Point of Sale Terminals and Security & Alarms). A specific variant for Automotive market has been designed to pass the automotive industry’s rigorous quality grades as well (E-marking E1 – 95/94/EC, ISO 16750, AEC Q100).
Sagem Communications was the first to introduce BGA package for the previous range of M2M modules. Now real breakthrough has been created and with its unique LCC package, HiLoNC increases the overall product reliability and supports most extreme environmental constraints. In addition, this quad-band GPRS module is very low in power consumption (< 1.5 mA in idle mode) and has first class extended sensitivity.
Thanks to its unique Surface Mounted Technology, the HiLoNC has been specially designed for mass production. Its LCC package allows fully automatic industrial process, providing a cost-effective solution for customers.
Sagem Communications has already delivered more than fourteen million GSM/GPRS modules. Based on Sagem Communications’ strong experience in telecommunication industry and mass production, the M2M activity is a core growth component for the company.
A French, international scale, high technology company, Sagem Communications specialises in broadband communications and convergence in particular in the following areas: printing terminals, digital TV set-top boxes, broadband and residential terminals, M2M communications, energy management and telecom systems and partnerships.
