ASIA / Europe : Huawei Technologies launched the world's first mobile TV capable 3.5G datacard, the E510, at CEBIT, the world's largest trade fair for digital solutions, held in Hannover, Germany.

The E510, a small, slim 2M HSUPA stick, comes equipped with mobile TV functionality that can turn any computer with access to a TV signal into a television. The device, which enables both mobile TV and mobile broadband, can be plugged in to PCs and laptops and is suitable for both professional and entertainment purposes.

Huawei is renowned for bringing together industry-leading technologies and fashionable, high-quality designs, with several of the company's products having received the design industry's highest accolade, the iF design award.  Other award-winning products to be showcased at CEBIT include the V720 mobile phone, famed for its mirror design, the E960 HSDPA wireless gateway, and the compact and fashionable E272 USB modem. In the second half of 2007, when "slimmer and smaller" emerged as a new trend for terminals, Huawei set the pace by launching the E170, the world's first HSUPA USB stick.

In 2007, Huawei shipped 40 million terminal products, including handsets, datacards, fixed wireless terminals and gateways.  Contract sales for the Terminals division totaled US$2.5 billion last year. To date, Huawei has captured significant market share in mobile broadband devices, shipping a total of eight million devices, predominantly to Europe, the US and Japan.
