3 Offer Free 3G Calls

29th March , 2004

Europe : Today, 3 introduced a whole new kind of pricing, never before seen in Swedish mobile telephony. 3 is making the cost of calls SEK 0 per minute round the clock for calls between 3 subscribers. This applies to both new and existing customers.

The opportunity for 3’s customers to ring each other free of charge be ideal for friends, groups of pals, colleagues, societies, relatives, and others wanting to stay in close contact without having to pay hefty mobile bills.

We’ve even made it simpler and cheaper to become a customer with 3. Anyone who takes out a subscription with 3 will always have the opportunity to get a mobile at no extra cost. The subscription is binding for 12 months, apart from 3Fri Start which costs just SEK 99 per month and is binding for 24 months. Common to all subscriptions is that voice or video calls cost SEK 0 per minute to others with a 3 subscription.

“This is an incredibly strong offer never before been seen in Sweden. From today, friends and colleagues can choose a suitable subscription, get a 3 mobile at no cost, and immediately start ringing each other from their mobiles as much as they want, round the clock, without being charged for their calls,” says Fredrik Landahl, Marketing Director of 3 in Sweden.

While it becomes free for 3’s customers to ring each other from their mobiles, 3 is introducing another mobile – the NEC e313. This is the seventh 3G mobile to be made available to 3’s customers. The NEC e313 is a light, adaptable mobile with a large 65,000-colour screen, and loads of functions like video calls, a media player for music and video, Java support, and much more. The NEC e313 is included at no extra cost when taking out a 3Fri Start subscription at SEK 99 per month.
