3G Will Be Used

8th March , 2004

Europe : Almost one out of every three managers believes their companies will use 3G services on a daily basis already within one year and as many as 85 percent believe their companies will use 3G services within a three-year period. These are some of the findings from a survey that Telia commissioned recently.

Access to e-mail and the possibility to browse the Internet are the 3G services that Swedish company managers rank the highest. These services are available already today, but as 3G technology becomes more established, they will become faster and easier to use.

An earlier survey of the same group of managers indicated that about half of them work at least two hours outside the office each day.

"Swedish companies are very far ahead when it comes to using the mobile Internet and this is most likely the reason why they also believe in a quick breakthrough for 3G mobile technology," says Erik Heilborn, head of the Business Segment at TeliaSonera Sweden.

The survey was carried out by the research company Netsurvey for Telia during January 2004 and polled 306 managers who work at companies in different parts of Sweden.
