Inset shows the variation of costs for picture messaging Intec Telecom Systems announced a contract to provide market-leading Czech mobile operator Eurotel with its world-leading Inter-mediatE(tm) mediation platform for GSM, HSCSD, GPRS and MMS mobile services. Eurotel is Intec's first convergent mediation customer in Eastern Europe, a region with one of the world's fastest growing mobile markets. The deal, valued at over one million euros, will raise Intec's profile in the area and offer further opportunities to promote Inter-mediatE as neighboring operators also begin rolling out complex value-added services such as MMS and content. "Eurotel aims to hold its leading role in the Czech telecommunications marketplace by offering customers advanced technologies like MMS and GPRS," said Pavel Subert, IT project manager at Eurotel. "Intec offered us the most complete and proven mobile mediation solution for the wide range of services we offer. Inter-mediatE will go a long way towards helping us achieve our objectives of generating maximum revenue from premium mobile services." Eurotel, the Czech Republic's largest mobile and broadband data communications operator, opted for Inter-mediatE's convergent, next-generation capabilities to support the billing processes of its multiple mobile services. With the Czech mobile penetration rate expected to reach 90 per cent by end of 2003, Eurotel is aiming to sustain customer growth with new value-added content services. It has become the first operator to rollout Multimedia Messaging Services (MMS) in the Czech Republic as well as offer mobile video services through video streaming, which allows users to view recordings -such as movie trailers, as they come to the phone, with no downloading or extra memory required. Kevin Adams, Intec's CEO, said: "Added value next-generation services are particularly important in Eastern Europe's growing but very competitive mobile market. Eurotel is relying on Intec's mediation technology to deliver a solution that can maximise revenue streams from a wide range of services." Inter-mediatE is the world's leading convergent mediation solution, designed to collect, filter, aggregate and process data from carrier networks to produce complete and accurate data for billing and other systems. It has the flexibility to capture usage and event data from multiple network elements, including charging gateways, routers, access servers, web servers and applications, and across all product types. The solution has a growing list of major customers which includes operators like Verizon, SBC and COLT as well as leading mobile players such as Denmark's SONOFON and 3G license holder "3" in the UK. |
