Logica Powers KPN Mobile's MMS Wireless

LogicaCMG announced a European framework agreement with KPN Mobile to deliver multimedia messaging services (MMS). E-Plus in Germany is the first KPN Mobile company to benefit from this framework agreement by launching MMS services using LogicaCMG's Multimedia Messaging Service Centre (MMSC).

The contract with E-Plus builds on the successful implementation of LogicaCMG's Wireless Service Broker(tm) to support its i-mode services. The combination of LogicaCMG solutions is helping E-Plus create a compelling and valuable mobile, multimedia offering for its customers.

Since February 2003, E-Plus subscribers have been able to send content-rich messages including photos, audio and video clips.

The LogicaCMG MMS solution for KPN Mobile includes business critical functionality such as transcoding and number portability and provides the scalability necessary to maintain the quality of service users will expect from premium MMS services going forward.

E-Plus' MMS service was recently rated as "outstanding" in a test conducted by Connect, a German telecommunications publication. Connect carried out the world's first fully automatic MMS network test in order to assess the MMS services delivered by E-Plus and other German mobile operators. E-Plus was recognised as offering the quickest and most reliable way of sending image and sound messages by mobile phone, with a message delivery success rate of more than 99 per cent. It was voted as the clear leader in network availability and the speed and reliability of transmission.
