Motorola Introduces New Wireless Phones

26th March 2003

Motorola revealed two new additions to the company’s growing 2003 mobile experience portfolio -- the Motorola E310 and V810. The new handsets deliver the latest technological advances in intelligent design, situational lighting, customizable music and interactive gaming – all brought together in full color. Unveiled for the first time at CTIA Wireless, the Motorola models E310 and V810, offer North American consumers the most in-demand features for experiencing mobile fun, personalization and productivity. Motorola’s two new CDMA mobile offerings join seven other new Motorola handsets unveiled earlier this year at Motorola’s signature “HelloMoto” event in China, GSM World Congress in France and CeBIT in Germany.

Inset is the E310.

“Anyone who tracks our industry will recognize the giant leaps Motorola’s new handsets take in combining the latest in technology innovation with intelligent design, producing an overall exceptional consumer experience,” said Joe Woods, vice president of product operations, Motorola’s Personal Communications Sector. “The new CMDA handsets we’re unveiling at CTIA Wireless, coupled with previously announced GSM, UMTS/WCDMA and TDMA handsets, offer consumers an unmatched choice of mobile phones delivering the latest ‘must have’ features with ‘gotta do’ experiences.”

Game On
Designed with fun in mind, the new Motorola E310 gives consumers a mobile method for experiencing a truly interactive wireless gaming environment. A 5-way navigational key doubles as a joystick while playing downloadable* games using BREW technology. Situational light, sound and vibration enhance the users gaming experience with full sensory effects, while the Multi-Functional Transducer (MFT) combines the speaker and vibration mechanism to create crashing sounds, turbulent shakes and colorful displays during play. Consumers playing the latest games will physically feel the shake, rattle and roll of intense competition. The model E310 throws serious attitude too, with eye-catching, interchangeable lenses, sidebar light strips, textured covers and a bright color screen for showing photos snapped on the optional camera attachment. And, with a superior polyphonic speaker and MP3 and FM stereo accessories, users can really get their groove on to the latest dance hits.

Stylish By Design
Jaw-dropping stares are normal when the new Motorola V810 comes in sight. Proving once again that good things come in small packages, the model V810 arrives loaded with an integrated camera with flash, advanced MMS* and EMS* messaging technologies and ear pounding polyphonic speakers. Cutting-edge BREW and CDMA1X technologies create a fast world of downloading* new games, screensavers, wallpaper, ring tunes and applications – all vibrantly shining on a large display capable of supporting up to 260,000 colors. The rainbow continues on the outside of the Motorola V810, with a variety of backlight options illuminating the beautifully designed exterior caller-ID* display. The model V810 answers the call of every fashionista, design diva or average Joe or Jane looking to show the world they have arrived.

Stay Tuned for More
Today's consumers need more than just traditional handsets with voice and messaging capabilities to stay organized and in-touch while on-the-go. To satisfy the appetites of the demanding mobile marketplace, Motorola has plans to bring a portfolio of CDMA and GSM push-to-talk handsets to market within the next year. Focusing on sleek and compact designs, Motorola will deliver a new suite of push-to-talk mobiles to enable consumers to stay in touch with business partners, workgroups, family and friends.
