| Sprint to Give Inside Look at 3G Network to Application Developers |

Are you a developer and want an inside look at Sprint's Third Generation (3G) network? Sponsored by the Sprint PCS Application Developer's Program, http://developer.sprintpcs.com , the second annual Sprint PCS Developer's Conference will feature sessions that can help application developers create, test and deploy successful wireless applications for Sprint's nationwide PCS network. Sprint , which operates the largest all-digital all- PCS nationwide network and is the fastest growing wireless carrier, will launch its 3G Network in mid-2002. "Building upon the success of last year's Developer's Conference, Sprint hopes to further connect with the development community, providing them with some of the best tools and resources to foster compelling applications for The Sprint 3G network," said John Yuzdepski, vice president and general manager of Sprint's PCS.com division. "By providing clear information to developers now, Sprint expects to deliver valuable 3G applications and services to its customers at launch." The conference, August 25 - 28 in Las Vegas, will cover both technical and general/business topics to appeal to a wide audience, including application developers, IT professionals and business development personnel. Conference topics include: -- Sprint PCS Wireless Web(SM) services, -- Sprint PCS Wireless Application Manager(SM) (WAM), -- Digital Rights Management, -- J2ME deployment for Sprint's PCS division, -- Sprint PCS Wireless Toolkit(SM), -- Sprint PCS J2ME handset APIs(SM), -- Sample Code, -- Sprint PCS Content Connection(SM), -- Billing and Remittance, and -- 2003 Strategic Direction of Sprint's PCS division. Sprint previously announced its long-term support for applications using the JAVA(TM) 2 Platform Micro Edition (J2ME). Deploying applications using the J2ME(TM) platform will enable Sprint to enhance the consumer experience by enabling more graphical and fun personalized interactive services for 3G- enabled wireless devices on the Sprint Third Generation Network. |
