Europe : Elektrobit is introducing the availability of the 2x2 MIMO test solution for the Propsim C2 air interface emulator at CTIA Wireless 2007 in Orlando from 27th to 29th March.
The introduction of the 2x2 MIMO for Propsim C2 further expands Elektrobit’s expertise in MIMO emulators. With the MIMO channel emulation capability, Propsim C2 is an excellent solution for product development, as well as for the integration and verification or comparison of MIMO-capable
wireless designs and systems.
Propsim C2’s wide frequency range seamlessly covers the 350MHz to 6GHz and 30MHz bandwidths, providing a platform for the development of MIMO techniques, including, for example, 3G, WiFi, WiMAX (Wave 1 and 2), LTE, HSxPA Tx/Rx diversity and 4G testing. Propsim C2’s wide frequency range enables the use of the same test solution in parallel evaluations of various standard systems, such as comparisons of WiMAX equipment operating in different frequency bands.
Propsim C2 with 2x2 MIMO has been designed to provide a solution to the most important issue in MIMO emulation - correlation accuracy and repeatability. Correlation emulation with high accuracy is an essential requirement in MIMO testing since system performance depends on channel correlation.
Repeatability of MIMO emulation is an essential requirement for comparable testing. The Propsim C2 with 2x2 MIMO test solution enables laboratory testing of MIMO-capable wireless systems under realistic conditions with a one-box solution.
The channel emulation capabilities of Propsim C2 enable emulation of standard and future channel models, including the WiMAX (Wave 2) MIMO models and other pre-standardisation MIMO channel models. The channel modelling tools included in Propsim C2 allow users to create correlating MIMO models based on complex correlation matrices. Propsim C2 implementation also enables emulation of user-defined or real-world measured channel models. The Propsim C2 multichannel emulator supports integrated generation of AWGN and both modulated and non-modulated interference signals, including CW, 8-PSK, WCDMA-UL, WCDMA–DL and GMSK with channel emulation capabilities.
Propsim C2 utilizes a fully integrated design for maximum ease of use, flexibility and simplicity of test setup. The graphical user interface is based on an integrated PC, a touch screen and a keyboard mounted on the front panel – no external accessories are needed. Propsim C2 2x2 MIMO channel emulation, integrated AWGN and other interferences, together with a compact one-box design, provides a turnkey solution for MIMO air interface emulation.
The new 2x2 MIMO test solution is available for any existing Propsim C2 with a simple onsite
firmware update.
