O2 Charge To Mobile now supports Google Play purchases

O2 Charge To Mobile

O2 mobile customers can now purchase apps, movies, games and music from Google Play and have it charged straight to their mobile bill. Saving them the hassle of having to add credit cards and registration details on Google's store.

It's all thanks to O2's clever Charge to Mobile service which can also be used on the Windows Phone Marketplace, Spotify, Facebook, BlackBerry World, Playstation Store and more. Cleverly, it also acts as age verification and those who wish can setup a PIN to avoid unauthorised usage.

“The integration of Charge to Mobile into Google Play – the largest app store in the world – will be an integral step forward in making Charge to Mobile a customer favourite for mobile payment methods in the UK,” said Telefonica Digital UK director David Plumb.

Since the service went live on Windows Phone earlier this year O2 have found that users have spent four times as much on apps and purchases. It's now used by over 100 merchants in the UK and we think it's a great idea, especially given that it effectively enables you to buy things on credit.
