US : ANADIGICS announced the availability of its AWT6388, a linear power amplifier (PA) for the CDMA450-based cell phones and wireless local loop applications that bring affordable 3G voice and data communications to wide areas in emerging and developed countries.
With deployments under way or completed by 103 operators in 60 countries, CDMA450 service is expanding rapidly around the globe, according to the CDMA Development Group (CDG) (www.cdg.org) and International 450 Association (IA450) (www.450world.org). China, Indonesia, Mexico and Russia are among the large markets that have allocated the 450 MHz frequency band to provide universal telephone and Internet access. Commercial service is already being provided to 12 million people by 67 operators in 36 countries.
"As the leading supplier of CDMA and 3G power amplifiers, ANADIGICS has introduced the AWT6388 as the smallest and most-efficient solution for the fast emerging 450MHz market," said Dr. Ali Khatibzadeh, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Wireless Products at ANADIGICS. "CDMA450 offers an attractive solution for fixed and mobile, high-speed communications and represents a significant growth opportunity for our CDMA business. The AWT6388 delivers high efficiency for longer talk times and it is compatible with the leading CDMA chipset supporting CDMA2000 and EVDO data and multimedia services."
The ANADIGICS AWT6388 PA offers high power and low receive band noise (-134 dBm/Hz) for outstanding performance over the extended coverage areas of wide area CDMA450 networks.
At 4 x 4 x 1 mm, the AWT6388 has a significantly smaller footprint than the 6 x 6 mm of previous designs. It is built using ANADIGICS' InGaP HBT technology for outstanding reliability, temperature stability, and ruggedness. ANADIGICS' power amplifiers are manufactured using a material set consistent with the European Union's Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS).
