Small Format In-Building 3G UMTS Wireless Antenna
15th June , 2006

US : Laird Technologies introduced its UltraSphere CAF 94895 ( inset above ), a micro-miniature, low profile, in-building wireless antenna that provides as high as 3.6 dBi gain and operates over the wideband frequency range of 800 MHz to 2.4 GHz enabling six different technologies (AMPS, GSM, PCS, DCS, UMTS and Wi-Fi) to radiate through a single antenna device. This combination of features delivers to the end user a technology-rich, physically attractive and cost-effective solitary solution.

The multi-band, omni-directional wireless antenna is targeted at cellular voice and data service providers, system integrators, VARs and OEMS. Due to its extensive wideband coverage, the UltraSphere CAF 94895 is service provider and region independent which further enhances its flexibility. The aesthetically pleasing UltraSphere CAF 94895 measures an incredible 1.7 mm maximum thickness. The product also is ideally suited for ceiling applications and is extremely unobtrusive which allows it to be concealed almost anywhere.

"By offering users a single device containing multiple antenna solutions, customers will purchase a product that enables an already installed future technology migration path," said Craig Somach, director of Business Development. "The unique and feature-packed UltraSphere CAF 94895 is the smallest antenna of its kind available today."

Depending on the frequency range, the antenna has a peak gain range up to 3.6 dBi, and its full dimensions are 179 mm x 80 mm x 1.7 mm with a SMA female connector. Samples of the UltraSphere CAF 94895 are available now with MSRP of $34.95 for 500 pieces.
