ASIA : Panasonic Mobile introduces the new X500 to the Asia Pacific region. This small size handset is a first from Panasonic that features a slider cover mechanism. Yoshihisa Tatsumi, Director of the Marketing Division for Asia and Oceania, Panasonic Mobile Communications, comments: "At Panasonic, we always aim to provide a handset that differentiates ourselves from the competition. The innovative industrial design of the X500 is sure to stand out from the crowd. When it is placed face down, it is very easy to mistake it for one of our stylish Panasonic Cameras. Seeing is really believing." Snap wonder in Digital camera style The X500 is equipped with a 4x digital zoom VGA camera and a high quality 65k color TFT screen. Plus, this sleek handset has the capability to record and playback motion JPEG file clips, which greatly enhance the entertainment factor and the fun of use of this handset. Needless to say, the handset also has all the essentials that you would expect from Panasonic, like 40 polyphonic ringtones, calendar function, calculator and a WAP browser. Plus, you can also download a range of games and other Java applications. The X500 will be available in the market starting Q3 2004.
