3G Video Streaming & Download Services

17th June , 2004

Europe : Emblaze Ltd announced that it has been contracted by Partner Communications Company Ltd. ("Partner Communications") to provide video streaming and video download services to Partner subscribers.

Inset is Eli Reifman, CEO of Emblaze who is quoted below.

A wide range of value added services will be introduced to GPRS users on 2.5 and 3G networks during the course of 2004, including traffic monitoring, live music and TV channels through a specially created portal on their multimedia mobile phones.

The first service to be provided by Emblaze consists of traffic monitoring, a much requested service, from surveillance cameras deployed on the Ayalon highway, the main commuter access route to commercial districts in the centre of the country, and broadcasted through the system to Partner subscribers. These services will be initially offered to up to 20,000 users, and will be made available on the Nokia 6600, and Emblaze Mobile's Alpha P8 videophone handsets. Emblaze will support these services on new devices introduced by Partner Communications in the future.

Partner Communications, which operates under the orange(TM) brand in Israel and is majority-owned by Hutchison Whampoa, the Hong Kong conglomerate, is offering a variety of mobile media services to its subscribers who can access these services using a range of handsets, including Emblaze Mobiles' Alpha P8.

Eli Reifman, Chief Executive Officer of Emblaze Ltd.: "Today, Emblaze is supplying Partner with advanced value-added services for 2.5G network. In the future it is expected that these services will be supported by Partner's 3G network, which is currently being rolled out. This, together with the purchase by Partner Communications of Emblaze Mobile's customised handset, is the direct result of our ability to deliver end-to-end solutions to our customers rather than only one component of the mobile streaming solution.

"This is the second network operator with whom we have launched traffic monitoring services, following the success of a similar launch with Mobile8, Indonesia's premier telecom operator. Such deals open up additional revenue stream for us. Our ability to stream live content to any multimedia platform, coupled with our capacity to create customised, easy to use portals make us the partner of choice for network operators looking to launch additional paid-for services."
