According to research by "Nikkei BP GfK SalesWeek3200," which provides through the Internet sales trend data of 3,400 volume retailers of home electronics products, NTT DoCoMo Inc.'s "SH251i," a cell phone with a built-in camera, was in second place in the sales ranking of cell phones during the third week of June 2002 (June 10-16).
This is the first, second-generation cell phone from NTT DoCoMo equipped with a camera. The product, manufactured by Sharp Corp., went on sale from June 1.The first place in the ranking was also NTT DoCoMo's "N504i," manufactured by NEC Corp. While NTT DoCoMo's handsets occupy the upper portions of the ranking, KDDI Corp.'s "A3012CA" by Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd. ranked fourth.
