TTPCom occupies a unique position within the wireless communications market. As the worlds leading independent developer the Company licenses the latest in communications technology, including complete handset designs, to the worlds foremost mobile terminal manufacturers, but does not manufacture these products itself. In addition TTPCom has developed a multi-platform strategy in which its protocol software is compatible with silicon from many of the worlds leading semiconductor manufacturers. This provides significant flexibility for wireless device manufacturers which are able to source essential baseband or radio chips from a number of suppliers. Our collaboration with Sharp demonstrates the strength of our core technology. We offer manufacturers a totally independent source of 3G, GPRS and GSM protocol software with which they can develop outstanding products", said Tony Milbourn, Managing Director at TTPCom. Furthermore, our experience of designing entire mobile systems, from applications to antenna, enables us to offer customisation services by integrating the latest in mobile technology including Bluetooth, location technology, gaming and graphical applications into wireless devices. In
addition to Sharp, the Company has a number of significant relationships
in Japan. TTPCom has been working with Hitachi for over 8 years, recently
announced dual-mode 3G/GSM technology licensing agreements with Toshiba
and Matsushita Electric Industrial, helping them to spearhead the development
of next generation mobile devices, and has sold its GPRS platform to
Toshiba for its i-mode handsets which will be launched in the Netherlands
later this year. |
