3G Selects BEA WebLogic Application Server Platform

BEA
Systems announced that BEA WebLogic Server™ has been chosen by Hutchison
3G as the application server platform on which to deliver its 3G services.
The BEA platform will first be deployed in the UK and then in all other
countries where Hutchison Whampoa has 3G interests.
BEA
WebLogic Server will enable Hutchison 3G to deploy a range of applications,
including its Service Delivery Platform, efficiently for a wireless environment.
Colin
Tucker, managing director of Hutchison 3G, said, "We are developing
a unique IT architecture on which to run our services and applications.
This is crucial for the success of 3G. BEA's WebLogic application server
platform is a key part of this. We chose BEA on the basis of its track
record and market experience."

Corp. and Okinawa Cellular said that the total number of subscribers of
their third generation CDMA2000 1x cellular phone service surpassed the
one million mark on June 23.
As
enterprises equip more employees with PDAs, they must understand the total
