BEA WebLogic Server will enable Hutchison 3G to deploy a range of applications, including its Service Delivery Platform, efficiently for a wireless environment. Colin Tucker, managing director of Hutchison 3G, said, "We are developing a unique IT architecture on which to run our services and applications. This is crucial for the success of 3G. BEA's WebLogic application server platform is a key part of this. We chose BEA on the basis of its track record and market experience." Alan Banks, managing director BEA Systems UK and Ireland commented, "The efficiency and speed of development was a key benefit provided by BEA WebLogic Server for Hutchison 3G. It is critical to the success of 3G to be able to develop services quickly. BEA's WebLogic Platform will enable Hutchison to take advantage of the next step in communications, particularly given the network of partners and ISV's developing applications on BEA WebLogic Enterprise Platform."
