Mobile Phone Music Downloads Soar in UK

UK : GFK Retail and Technology ( GfK ) has released new figures showing that the mobile music market is growing at a strong pace. This is confirmed by May’s figures which show a record number of downloads at 1.75 Million. In 2009 to-date each month has had at least 1.5 Million music tracks downloaded each month and is growing month on month.

 

31% of the mobile music downloads in May 09 were were via a subscription service.  The total value of the mobile downloads in May 09 reached an all time high at £2.36 Million.
